May Brenner on Sydney Brenner’s Prizes
  May Brenner     Biography
Recorded: 14 Jun 2005

No, no. The prizes are not important. I couldn’t tell you what degrees he has. I’ve only been present at perhaps at three-quarters of these great occasions; the overeating, the overdrinking, and the talking so pleasantly to all sorts of people about all sorts of things and all sorts of places. That’s fun. I would like to remember some of those things, although I mix them up and forget half. I feel that is his life. It’s not part of our lives. I’d like to tell you a story when our twin grandsons, well, they came often to eat us. Grandpa always made them laugh and he always made so many jokes and he always did such funny clownish things. One day one of them said, grandma, did grandpa have to learn to be so stupid or was he born like that? And I could only say, you’re asking the wrong person. He’s such a _____, ask him! We haven’t got the answer yet. I can’t tell you. I think he was born like that!

May Brenner was married to Sydney Brenner from December 1952 until her death in January 2010. She was engaged in doing a Ph.D. in Psychology in London.
