1978, Original Newspaper Article

In this article titled "House Will Blossom In Original Colors," Aileen Jacobson describes how Davenport House will be repainted in its original colors: "mustard yellow for the clapboard body, side shingles in darker yellow, trim in dark green, olive green and gray and windows and sashes in dark red." Frank G. Matero, a paint analyst in the National Parks Service, said that "this may be the second exterior on Long Island, after Sagamore Hill, to be repainted using laboratory analysis."
