Today laboratory staff and visitors continue to meet at Blackford Hall to enjoy meals and talk science. CSHL meetings and courses are now held year-round and are increasingly filled to capacity. The Food & Beverage Service Department staff, based in Blackford Hall, are host to numerous special events and banquets on and off campus. In 2005, over 165,000 meals were served in Blackford Hall. During summer meetings, when the weather permits, barbeques are held outside and attendees are often seen relaxing on the lawn overlooking the harbor.
