In November 2010, ground was broken for a second time for the rebuilding of the Hershey Teaching Laboratory. It was made possible with a generous grant from the Howard Hughes Medical Institute in recognition of the major impact that the CSHL Meetings & Courses program has on science research and education. Centerbrook Architects and Planners, who had completed the first renovation in the exact same location 33 years before, were chosen for the 16,000-square-foot project.
