Construction begins on the new laboratory for advanced plant biogenetics with major support from the Pioneer Hi-Bred International Company. This was the second building to be connected to the former Davenport Laboratory creating the 3-building Delbruck—Page Laboratory Complex. In keeping with the design of the first addition, a similar glass-enclosed passageway between the buildings also serves as the entrance.
