Colonies of mice, rats, guinea pigs, hamsters, and rabbits are maintained at Harris. Incorporated are facilities for food and bedding storage, bottle filling, cage cleaning, reception, loading dock, boiler room, windowless light controlled animal rooms, an elevator, and two small laboratories. The attic houses air handling equipment, ductwork, fans, and humidifiers.

In 2022 the Laboratory Animal Resources Department Supervisor is Gustavo Munoz; he has been at CSHL since 2004.
