“The Three Yeastketeers” was the affectionate nickname that Amar Klar coined when he, Jeff Strathern, and Jim Hicks began working together in Delbrück. Happy to be working at CSHL when Barbara McClintock was still active here and encouraged by her example, they co-authored (in various combinations) 30 papers during the period of their collaboration. Klar has also said, “…we brought yeast genetics to molecular biology” (Inspiring Science, edited by Inglis, Sambrook, and Witkowski, 2003).
