Example of Federal "Half-House," 1820

The home now referred to as the Yellow House was built in the 1820s. In the 1930s, it was acquired by the Biological Laboratory Director, Charles B. Davenport. It is an example of a Federal "half-house" so named because it is missing, or built without, two windows on the other side of the front door. The included photo displays an example of such a house.
