Architectural Rendering, 1999

In 1998, CSHL purchased a 65,000-square-foot building from the American Institute of Physics. It is on an 11-acre site 7 miles south in Woodbury, New York. All but the shell was demolished, and in December of 1999, construction began on the new $25 million Genome Research Center.

The new 72,000 square foot center has laboratories, a plant technology center, an animal facility, a 125-seat auditorium, a full-service dining commons, and offices for the CSHL Press department.
