Townie Knight (Townsend J. Knight) served three terms on the Laboratory's Board of Trustees from 1970 through 1995. In 1995, Townie Knight was made an Honorary Trustee in recognition of his dedication to the research and education mission of CSHL. In 2012, it was reported that the CSHL Board of Trustees, faculty, and administration mourned the passing of their long-time friend and supporter.
