By 1893, the Bio Lab was ready to be used. That year, the Bio Lab's yearly report stated that the "facilities of the Bio Lab were increased this season by the erection of a new and commodious lab designed for the special purposes of the school." The Jones Laboratory was built by the water's edge to house general and bacteriological laboratories, the Director's Office, and a small library.
