The original Davenport Laboratory is now the center building of the plant genetics facility called the Delbrück-Page Laboratory Complex. In 1981, it was renovated and joined via a glass-enclosed passageway to a new lab built to accommodate yeast genetics research. At that time, the two buildings were renamed Delbrück Laboratory. In 1987, the Page Laboratory was built north of the former Davenport Lab to form the 3-building complex. The infamous CSHL "plate race" is held in front of these buildings at the end of the yeast course every year, in which runners use stacks of Petri dishes as batons in this unique relay race. For the complete history of the complex, please see the Building Blocks of CSHL pages for the Delbrück Laboratory and the Page Laboratory.
