To raise funds to build the new cabins, past meeting participants were asked to seize the occasion and gift the Laboratory in this pursuit. Generous gifts came in from over 150 past participants. In 1989, six new heated cabins were raised on the hill west and north of Grace Auditorium on the southwest edge of the Laboratory campus. They were designed and built by trusted and familiar architects from Centerbrook. Following quickly in 1991, an additional five cabins were completed on a wooded, sloped site to the west of the first six.
