The Cryo-EM Facility is a dedicated isolated facility that was retrofitted into the existing Beckman Laboratory. It was constructed to house a new, state-of-the-art electron microscope, which required complete isolation of the facility from the rest of the building. It includes isolated ventilation, isolated power, and active electromagnetic shielding.
