Members of the Long Island Biological Association, neighbors, foundations, and trustees ultimately raised the necessary $21.5 million in grants and gifts to build the Beckman Neuroscience Center. Generous and significant monetary support funneled through the Arnold and Mabel Beckman Foundation, came from Dr. Arnold O. Beckman, an internationally recognized scientist, inventor, business leader, and philanthropist.
