Alighted on the hillside and sitting straight across the James/Sambrook Circle where the upper road ends, Urey Cottage bears similarities to Cole Cottage and served to house Long Island Biological Association scientists and visitors. It was changed in size and style over time. In 1961, it was renovated to become a year-round residence.
