Harold Clayton Urey, 1934

Harold Clayton Urey, 1893-1981, was an American physical chemist whose pioneering work on isotopes won him the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1934 for the discovery of deuterium. Also known as the discoverer of "heavy water," Harold Urey was a Long Island Biological Association trustee from 1934 to 1948.
