Sambrook Dedication

The dedication ceremony for Sambrook Laboratory took place appropriately during the meeting, "DNA Tumor Viruses: Gene Expression and Replication," where 300 scientists, including Mike Botchan and Renato Dulbecco, joined Dr. Sambrook for the celebration. On the program that day was the "Opening Remarks" by James D. Watson, who was CSHL Director at that time; Michael Botchan, "The James Lab Experience: A Personal View"; and Renato Dulbecco, "The Turning Point in Tumor Virus Research." Dr. Sambrook continues to earn distinguished recognition for his work on viruses and the molecular biology of normal and cancerous cells, most recently at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Institute in Melbourne, Australia.
