Grace Auditorium was designed by Centerbrook Architects (the successor firm to Moore, Grover, and Harper) and built by A.D. Herman Construction Company. This structure won the ARCHI design award from the LI Chapter of AIA.

The landscape design, by Innocenti & Webel, at the front of Grace Auditorium was executed with the help of Laboratory grounds foreman Hans Trede. The design included a rustic, stream-spanning bridge across the road from the front entrance portico.
