In 1972, the Firehouse was gutted and renovated to create three year-round apartments. The new interior was designed by Edelman & Salzman. Post renovation tenants included the future 1993 Nobel Prize winner Richard Roberts and his family, Ulf and Brigitta Petterson, and Mary Osborn and Klaus Weber. Davenport Laboratory is visible to the south of the Firehouse.
