For construction to commence on an auditorium, later to be named Bush Lecture Hall, the summer wooden cabins had to be moved to the hill behind James Laboratory on the other side of Bungtown Road.

The Anderson and Beckwith architectural firm designed a Scandinavian Modern style two-story, 3,300-square foot lecture hall complete with a wood-paneled lounge featuring a fireplace.
