The campus landmark, Hazen Tower, disguises the Neuroscience Center's chimneys for its heating and ventilating systems. It was designed by Centerbrook Architects and built by A.D. Herman Construction Company.

It connects to a stairway exit from Beckman Laboratory. The Tower has a circular viewing platform underneath the bell, reached using a unique symbol of biology's crusade, a helical staircase.
