The following criteria have been used to decide which of the multitude of resources available on the Web would be included in the CSHL Library Web Resources pages.  Please note, these are only suggestions, and inclusion on this site does not imply endorsement by Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory.

• The guideline is to include the top 5 to 10 sources in each category.

• Online journals that are accessible to CSHL staff are listed separately elsewhere on this site.

• Links are made to government bodies, reputable associations, healthcare organizations or educational institutions.

• Commercial sites (addresses ending with .com) whose primary mission is to market, sell, or advertise products or services and personal web sites (with a tilde [~] in the address) are usually not included.

• Sites requiring free registration are linked selectively.

• Sites requiring paid registration are generally not included.

• This is not a complete list of web sites on the listed topics.  CSHL staff who need an exhaustive search of the WWW or a thorough search of the scientific literature, should contact Mila Pollock, pollock@cshl.org or call at ext. 8493.
