Training

CSHL Library provides a number of LibGuides, which include links to sources of online help and training provided by NLM, Web of Science, Scopus, and others. In many cases, demonstration videos are available to walk you through a specific task. One-on-one or group training in a classroom setting is also available upon request. Topics for training include, but are not limited to:

  • Literature searching fundamentals
  • Advanced topics in literature searching
  • Setting up alerts, which can let you know when new articles on a particular topic have been published; or when specific published articles have been cited
  • Using EndNote bibliographic management software
  • Submitting papers to PubMed Central using the NIHMS System
  • Using My NCBI My Bibliography to maintain a list of publications
  • Associating publications with grants in eRA Commons
  • Remote access to resources using VPN or EZproxy
  • Introduction to the CSHL Institutional Repository
  • Various topics around the history of CSHL
