The Library wishes to bring to your attention to a very useful tool: Journal Citation Reports® (Thomson Scientific Pub)

  • Look up the “impact factor” of a journal, a unique evaluation number revealing a journal’s importance relative to others in its field
  • Related Journals enable users to see which journals share citations
  • JCR Web includes linking categories to recent Current Contents Connect tables of contents and to Web of Science

INTENDED USERS:
* Authors - can identify journals in which to publish, confirm the status of journals in which they have published, and identify journals relevant to their research
* Publishers - can monitor their competitors, identify new publishing opportunities, and make decisions regarding current publications
* Editors - can assess the effectiveness of editorial policies and objectives and tracking the standing of their journals
* Librarians and Information Specialists: enables a variety of information professionals to access and assess key journal data and manage and maintain journal collections and budget for subscriptions

FEATURES:
* covers more than 7,500 world highly cited, peer-reviewed journals in approximately 200 disciplines
* offers access to citation statistics from 1997 onward
* enables users to sort journal Impact Factor, Immediacy Index, Total Cites, Total Articles, Cited Half-Life, or Journal Title
* enables users to sort subject category by Total Cites, Median Impact Factor, Aggregate Impact Factor, Aggregate Immediacy Index, Aggregated Cited Half-Life, Number of Journals in Category, Number of Articles in Category

1. View a group of journals by Subject Category, Publisher, Country/Territory. The default option is Subject Category
2. Search for a specific journal. Search for a specific title
3. View all journals. View all journals in the JCR edition and year you selected
