In 1933, the Director of the Bio Lab, Reginald Harris contacted Arthur Page to inquire about the whereabouts of W.J.V. Osterhout. Harris wanted Osterhout to speak at the first annual symposium at Cold Spring Harbor. The symposium continues today and offers a chance for scientists to convene at CSHL to lecture and to discuss advancements in their fields.
